Acute Care EMR, Getting Your Money’s Worth
The Overall Experience

August 4, 2010 | Read Time: 1  minute

“Just buy MEDITECH! You know what it costs. You know what it does. You know the company personality and how they deliver. MEDITECH gives you the best bang for the buck.” – Though oft-repeated at the C-level during the last 10 years, these words are changing. With big dollars tied to physician adoption and clinicians more involved than ever, the bang for the buck is no longer obvious, especially for newly live MEDITECH clients.

KLAS found 146* organizations (generally with more than 200 beds) that came live on one of the primary inpatient EMR solutions after January 2007. During February–May 2010, KLAS interviewed half of these newly live organizations to understand providers’ real budget experiences. KLAS then compared those findings to KLAS’ overall pool of live EMR organizations interviewed in the last 17 months, tying the research to basic questions like “Are you getting your money’s worth?”
