The demand for consulting services continues to rise as healthcare IT systems get more complex, regulations increase, and interoperability becomes more imperative. Providers can identify the firm with the best fit for their needs by 1) considering how the depth and breadth of firms’ service offerings match their project needs; 2) considering firms’ overall performance and scope of services; 3) analyzing which firms demonstrate strong performance on metrics critical to project success; and 4) examining how firms’ ability to deliver tangible benefits intersects with key project requirements.

1. PWC, IMPACT ADVISORS, LEIDOS HEALTH, CHARTIS GROUP, AND DELOITTE CONSULTING OFFER A PROVEN BREADTH OF SERVICES AND DEPTH OF EXPERIENCE

Providers' first step in identifying potential firms is to match firms' experience and breadth of service offerings with their needs. All five firms with the most validated engagements and broadest service offerings (in the Comprehensive quadrant) demonstrate deep healthcare knowledge that aids clients in unique ways. PwC and Leidos help clients achieve strong clinical and financial improvements. Impact Advisors delivers consistent, tangible benefits paired with clear executive communication. Chartis Group's and Deloitte's strategic competency supports providers forming high-level road maps.

3. JACOBUS, KURT SALMON, AND FALCON CONSULTING EXCEL IN CRITICAL METRICS; DELL CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE

After narrowing firm choices based on depth, breadth, and scope of services, providers can begin to analyze how firm performance should influence project success. In the four provider-identified metrics that contribute most to client satisfaction in engagements, Jacobus succeeds at providing tools and training that meet clients' individual needs. Kurt Salmon works collaboratively with clients to create customized strategic plans. Impact Advisors provides a strong client network that enables them to share knowledge. Falcon Consulting exceeds project delivery expectations. Conversely, Dell Services' clients express dissatisfaction with delivery that does not meet expectations, including work that provides less insight than expected, is too high level, is unsustainable, or doesn't fulfill clients' needs due to the firm's lack of understanding.

4. TANGIBLE BENEFITS: IMPACT ADVISORS DELIVERS ACROSS THE BOARD; MCKINNIS EXCELS IN DELIVERING FINANCIAL OUTCOMES

Lastly, providers can compare required project outcomes with the tangible benefits firms have delivered. Impact Advisors earns high praise for understanding clients' unique needs and providing deep insights and additional value that goes above and beyond. Deloitte offers focused results by delivering actionable and strategic plans and tools that allow providers to independently achieve goals. McKinnis excels through staff education combined with effective methodologies for financial outcomes and workflows.
