Helping Providers Is a Personal Matter

One of the great things about working at KLAS, besides the annual golf tournaments and early morning breakfast meetings (donuts always help to get the brain moving), is the opportunity we have to speak with providers on a regular basis.

It is so great to connect with such amazing, talented, and engaged healthcare professionals. We are so fortunate to have such great provider friends. I love the provider conversations. I always feel so energized after a great provider call because I learn so much from them, and I always come away with a more determined resolve to do my job better.

I get to hear about their challenges. I learn what keeps them up at night. I get a taste of the complexities of their world and a sense for the passion that they have for patients. I feel their urgency to deliver quality care. Providers remind me every day that healthcare is a personal matter because it impacts the people we love most: our families and our communities.

A conversation I had with a provider friend recently reinforced in my mind the difficult decisions that providers face every day, particularly around healthcare IT. It’s a tough world out there and the stakes are high. HIT decisions have far-reaching and lasting implications. Change is fast and furious.

Providers are desperate to find those vendor partners that can help them navigate the stormy seas and get them where they need to be. I get a sense of that urgency on every provider call. That’s why I’m passionate about KLAS’ mission to help providers.

I am grateful to our provider friends for their dedication, commitment, and passion to provide quality care. I hope that what we do makes a difference for providers and helps bring some clarity in this sea of change and uncertainty.
