The burden of documentation is a seemingly never-ending uphill climb for providers. Scribes and voice recognition are solutions advertised to help increase the usability of the EHR by relieving some of this burden from the provider's shoulders. In the course of research efforts to identify data-backed best practices regarding documentation, KLAS found little evidence that scribes or voice recognition significantly improve EHR satisfaction or efficiency.
