Which Consultants Can Help?
Over 90 percent of acute care hospitals in the U.S. have work to do to clear the CMS-proposed CPOE adoption hurdle. For some, their work will just be an internal focus and rollout using their own staff. For others, it will require outside resources, mostly from third-party consulting firms. Many will make major investments in a professional services firm (PSF) to lead and staff the CPOE rollout from planning, project management, software implementation, and training to a live CPOE implementation, including clinical transformation. This report will address the major PSFs, providing past performance scores where available. The information should help hospitals and IDNs, whether they are looking for advisory services and staff augmentation or for full project delivery, to achieve the CMS-proposed CPOE levels. The goal of this study is to break the information down into bite-sized pieces for the provider community.
