Use of artificial intelligence—or technology akin to it, such as computer-aided detection (CAD)—is not new in healthcare imaging. However, new models and tools have sparked renewed momentum in imaging AI, expanding both the range of use cases and the number of vendors in the market—case in point, respondents in this research are using or considering over 190 unique AI vendors for imaging. Based on interviews with 943 healthcare professionals in 63 countries and territories around the world, this report examines (1) imaging AI adoption by region, (2) the most common use cases for which AI is being implemented, and (3) the top vendors being used and considered. KLAS’s future research in this area will focus on validating the outcomes and value of the most prevalent solutions.
