Ambulatory Clearinghouse
Loaded Results and Broad Choices for Providers

November 18, 2010

Even as providers are primarily focusing on EHRs, clinical decision support systems, and data-analytics software at this time because of the Affordable Care Act of 2010, clearinghouse services for ambulatory claims are evolving and continue to provide a critical component of the new digital healthcare enterprise.

This year’s KLAS survey of clearinghouse vendors found that the differentiation trend first identified two years ago—increased functionality and enhanced service—has continued with a vengeance and is literally changing this market sector. This is good news for providers as, while it may be difficult to declare a winner among vendors with such little daylight between the best of them, it shows that vendors as a group are improving their focus on service delivery and accountability.
