Bed Management and Tracking Market Review 2007

Bed Management and Tracking Market Review 2007

| Read Time: Unknown

As hospitals find themselves under ever increasing pressure to maximize revenue by optimizing patient throughput, providers are looking at Bed Management solutions with more interest than ever. But does having such a system help achieve desired results? And, if so, which vendors offer Bed Management solutions, and with what level of competency?

This KLAS Market Review offers a look at the bed management conundrum many provider organizations find themselves in—and explores how software and current vendor offerings may help them out.

Most providers are clearly pleased with Bed Management solutions, and optimistic about the future. In fact, 100 percent, of provider commentary—for all vendors-- relating to “future outlook” was positive, indicating that providers are pleased with what they have and are excited about the future. It is extraordinarily rare for KLAS to see a 100 percent positive commentary ratio, and it usually indicates an up-and-coming solution whose functionality will become a matter of “when” and not “if”. KLAS last saw this type of response in the PACS market, which has since become a core piece of most hospitals’ IT plan.

How do bed management vendors stack up against each other? The market itself is becoming more dynamic as bed management solutions gain more attention. An interesting differentiation between these vendors shows up when looking at the market share versus performance scores found in this study.

The vendors included in this study are:

  • ACS MIDAS+/New Age Systems BedReady
  • Awarix Enterprise Patient Care Visibility
  • Hill-Rom NaviCare Patient Flow
  • McKesson STAR Patient Location Tracker
  • Premise Patient Flow Platform
  • Radianse Patient Flow Manager
  • Siemens INVISION Bed Management
  • StatCom Enterprise Patient Flow Logistics and Tracking
  • TeleTracking Bed Management Suite
