It’s 2011, and the MU clock is ticking for healthcare providers. While a number of providers have already turned in their applications for MU funding (21,300 according to Dr. David Blumenthal at HIMSS11), the vast majority are still putting the pieces together. Despite the time crunch, most ambulatory providers that have purchased an EMR remain optimistic; of the 597 providers KLAS spoke with for this study, 80% said they are confident they will meet the MU standards by the end of 2011. Clearly, most providers feel they are on track to secure the coveted government incentives this year.
