Clinical Decision Support 2020
Progress and Innovations in CDS
In an ideal world, clinicians would be able to practice medicine unencumbered by unnecessary restraints, including those created by the technology designed to assist them. With this goal in mind, approaches to and technology for clinical decision support (CDS) have been evolving, from passive and reactive to predictive and proactive.
Based on the feedback of organizations identified by vendors as their most advanced users, this report looks at recent innovations in the CDS market to explore what outcomes progressive users are currently achieving and where the market is headed next. As feedback comes only from a handful of advanced users, the findings in this report are not intended to infer or represent market-wide results, and no customer satisfaction data is shared.
This report examines each vendor one by one, in alphabetical order. Only standalone, third-party healthcare IT solutions are included. Note that while some vendors refer to such solutions as surveillance tools, KLAS has chosen to use the phrase “clinical decision support” throughout this report. A high-level view of each vendor’s CDS area of focus in this report as well as customer-highlighted outcomes are given below.
