Oncology IS 2011
Integrating the Island
What a difference a year makes. Comparing this year’s KLAS report on oncology IT to 2010’s is like comparing a bustling marketplace to a quiet corner store. Long an island unto itself with just a few major players, oncology IT has now been joined to the mainland by the bridges of meaningful use (MU) incentives and the drive to develop integrated clinical IT platforms to support quality, safety, and efficiency under emerging accountable care models. Those bridges are bringing in new players ranging from name brand enterprise HIT vendors to niche vendors offering innovative, new web-based solutions.
