Government Reimbursement Services 2025
How Firms’ Offerings Support Cost-Report Preparation & Submission
Healthcare organizations rely on annual Medicaid and Medicare cost reports to monitor healthcare expenses, account for regulatory changes and compliance, and determine the status of reimbursements. When cost reports are late, incomplete, or inaccurate, organizations are at risk of penalties or delayed payments. To reduce the manual lift and prevent inaccuracies when compiling and submitting cost reports, some organizations outsource to firms that offer government reimbursement services and/or technology offerings. These organizations have to determine their ability to utilize self-service tools internally versus outsourcing some or all of the report preparation and submission process. While the three firms measured in this report see generally high client satisfaction, market differentiation is mostly rooted in each firm’s approach to their services and/or technology offerings. This report—KLAS’ first on government reimbursement services—examines client experiences with these firms, including what offerings are being utilized, the quality and timeliness of deliverables, and the ability to optimize reimbursements.
