GE, Philips, and Siemens represent the Big 3 of imaging equipment, but Toshiba is making its way to the negotiating table, often on equal footing, and finding success. As stated by one radiology director, “Toshiba has really come on well lately in this market. There are the big three vendors, plus Toshiba.” This statement is not a new phenomenon. When KLAS officially began monitoring the performance of medical equipment vendors in 2006, the excellent client satisfaction scores Toshiba received were quickly noticed. Yet, many imaging departments outside of Toshiba’s core clients did not have a deep understanding of what Toshiba offered.
