Better Service in a Shifting Market
As meaningful use rounds the corner, some providers are reevaluating how best use their in-house IT staff to handle upcoming implementations, transformations, or upgrades. Increasing numbers are turning to partial IT outsourcing, and with positive results—60% of providers doing discrete outsourcing in this study reported more value for their IT dollars since outsourcing. This value was manifested through improved service quality levels and shared best practices that providers' in-house staff lacked. The 18% of providers in this study saying they got less value from partial ITO cited sub-par service levels, poor staff communication, or better cost-effectiveness from in-house personnel.
