Community PACS 2006

November 3, 2006

KLAS' Community PACS 2006 report studies vendor performance among community PACS offerings. The report answers questions such as "Which vendor performs best, according to providers in community hospital settings?" and "What advice do providers offer to those researching a community PACS solution?"

Select Findings of Interest

  • There has been a meaningful increase in positive commentary (60 percent to 69 percent, 2005 to 2006) against a KLAS all product average increase of 61 percent to 62 percent.
  • Negative commentary shows many of the issues are the same from 2005 to 2006 and are related to service, support, documentation and training.
  • More studies were done through PACS; the overwhelming majority report 85 percent or more of all studies done through PACS, which is a solid 10 percent increase from that reported in 2005.

Vendors Included in the Report

This report includes a total of 27 products from 27 vendors. Vendor products with greater than 15 unique organizations included in the research qualify for the Main Body. Those with more than six but less than 15 unique organizations included in the research qualify for the Early Data section. Specific to the 2006 Community PACS report there are 11 products that qualify to be in the Main Body of the report, 12 that qualify for the Early Data section, and four products that have Vendor Overviews and Technical Assessments only.
