Best in KLAS 2019 Software & Services recognizes the leading vendors for solutions, services and management consulting offered in the United States. Global Best in KLAS 2019, also released today, recognizing the leading software and service organizations that serve the global healthcare market outside the United States.

“Best in KLAS is about raising the bar for healthcare technology,” said Adam Gale, President of KLAS. “It's providers and payers demanding better performance, usability and interoperability. Ultimately, Best in KLAS is about giving providers and payers the tools they need to facilitate superior care and improved outcomes."

Most Improved Software Product. For the second year in a row, GE Healthcare’s Universal Viewer saw the largest improvement in overall score of any software product KLAS rates. Along with some clients’ high optimism, GE Healthcare’s earnest efforts to improve their product development and response to customer issues are largely responsible for the increase in the solution’s overall score.

Most Improved Physician Practice Product. Greenway Health Intergy EHR

(11–75 Physicians). In 2018, satisfaction among Greenway Health’s Intergy customers saw significant improvement in all performance areas measured by KLAS. Customers have seen improved vendor relationships, better communication, better overall value, and an increased focus on providing a product-development road map. With these improvements has also come an increase in customer optimism about Intergy’s future.

Most Improved Medical Equipment Product. ARxIUM MedSelect Cabinets. Improvement in the responsiveness of ARxIUM customer support has positively impacted customers using the MedSelect Cabinets, leading to an increase in overall satisfaction.

New Categories for 2019. New Best in KLAS segments include Virtual Care Platforms and Worksite Health Services. New Category Leader segments are: Ambulatory Therapy/Rehab, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Behavioral Health, Credentialing, Digital Rounding, Eligibility Enrollment Services, Patient Intake Management and Surgery Management.

2019 Best in KLAS definitions. Best in KLAS is awarded only in those software and services market segments that have the broadest operational and clinical impact on healthcare organizations. Category Leader is reserved for use in select market segments that don’t qualify for Best in KLAS but in which at least two products meet a minimum level of KLAS Konfidence. Like Best in KLAS winners, vendors awarded Category Leader also stand out for helping healthcare organizations deliver quality patient care. Overall Software Suite is reserved for those vendors that provide a suite of products clients would purchase to address their core IT needs. Vendors that have both a fully rated clinical and financial system as well as ancillary systems qualify for this overall suite ranking. Additional detail has been provided around how each vendor performs against the other enterprise suites and against the various ancillary markets in which a vendor has a product offering currently rated by KLAS.

In addition to displaying an overall performance score for each product or service, this year’s report also includes grades across six performance categories—culture, relationship, operations, product, value, and loyalty. Each category is comprised of key questions from the standard KLAS evaluation. These grades will enable readers to more quickly understand high-level differences in vendor performance and give better context as to how each product or service compares to other offerings in the market. KLAS has developed separate grading scales for software products and for services offerings.

Best in KLAS is based on information obtained from the 2,500 interviews KLAS conducts with providers and payers each month. Annually, these interviews represent the opinions of healthcare professionals and clinicians from more than 4,500 hospitals and 2,500 clinics, and account for 1,200 products and services from more than 450 vendors.
