WORTH KNOWING
VENDORS ACHIEVE REGIONAL, NOT GLOBAL, SUCCESS
Cerner and InterSystems have been deployed in the most regions, but results have varied. Cerner performs well in Europe and Canada but has struggled at times in Asia/Pacific. Conversely, InterSystems has shown some success in Asia/ Pacific and the Middle East but has struggled in Scotland. Allscripts and MEDITECH 6.0 have limited global footprints but perform well in Northern America. ChipSoft, CSC (with Lorenzo), and Epic perform highly in Europe but have no customers live in other regions yet. No single EMR vendor has been adopted globally with high success in all regions.
SEVERAL GREAT EMR OPTIONS IN EUROPE
Cerner’s numerous European customers are pleased with the service and breadth of functionality. Epic’s limited Dutch customer base is pleased with Epic’s attentiveness and integrated functionality. CSC Lorenzo (England) and ChipSoft (Netherlands)are more limited in breadth of functionality, but customers are pleased with what they have achieved at a lower cost. Providers using InterSystems, Siemens (Soarian or i.s.h.med), or older CSC or MEDITECH platforms report inadequate vendor attentiveness to problems.
GOOD, NOT GREAT, PERFORMANCE IN THE AMERICAS
In Northern America, outside the United States, MEDITECH 6.0 performs well thanks to very consistent delivery.Other vendors also perform well. Allscripts customers report better direction and recent product development. Cerner customers like their vendor’s involvement but want better access to recent product developments.Feedback on Philips Tasy in Latin/SouthAmerica is mixed.
INTERSYSTEMS HIGHEST PERFORMING IN THE MIDDLE EAST & ASIA/PACIFIC
InterSystems customers enjoy a solid product experience in both regions and very good support in the Middle East. Cerner customers in the Middle East have deep clinical adoption across many modules, but report shallow support resources. Some Australian providers reported implementation challenges with Cerner.
