From Off-The-Rack to Custom Fit: Transforming Physician Training with Amplifire
This presentation examines the data collected from UC San Diego's Ampifire-based eLearning initiatives, providing a detailed look at EHR learner feedback and performance metrics. The focus is on understanding how data-driven insights can inform and improve the design of self-directed learning programs. By analyzing trends and user experiences, we uncover strategies to enhance learning efficiency, engagement, and retention. The Challenge: UCSD’s Epic Training Constraints UCSD onboards approximately 1,000 new clinicians annually—around 650 physicians and advanced practice providers, and 350 house staff. Each new provider must complete mandatory Epic training within two weeks of their start date, with sessions ranging from 2 to 6 hours depending on role. While this training ensures baseline Epic competency, it is not personalized.
