The Provider Efficiency Program – a multimodal, multidisciplinary strategy for optimizing EHR usability.
LifeBridge Health Informatics teams used data from both the KLAS EHR Usability survey and Oracle/Cerner LightsOn performance metrics to design a multimodal and multidisciplinary Provider Efficiency Program (PEP). Incorporating direct observation in patient care with personalized training, the PEP targeted optimized workflows and effective use of existing tools. Significant qualitative and quantitative improvements have been sustained for all participants, and the program has been adapted based on lessons learned.
