From Off-the-Rack to Custom Fit: Transforming Physician Training with Amplifire
UC San Diego Health & Amplifire: KLAS Arch Collaborative Summit 2025
This presentation examines data from UC San Diego’s Amplifire-based eLearning initiatives to understand how learner feedback and performance metrics can improve self-directed EHR education. UCSD onboards approximately 1,000 clinicians annually, including physicians, advanced practice providers, and house staff, who must complete mandatory Epic training within two weeks of their start date. While traditional training establishes baseline competency, its broad, standardized format offers limited personalization based on prior experience. Attendees will learn how UCSD is using data-driven insights, learner trends, and user experiences to inform training design and identify opportunities to improve learning efficiency, engagement, retention, and personalization.
