One Team, One Mission: Building a Scalable Ambient AI Program Across Five Regions and Two EHRs
CommonSpirit Health & Abridge: KLAS Arch Collaborative Learning Summit 2026
CommonSpirit Health and Abridge built a partnership around a shared goal: using ambient AI to improve physician well-being, efficiency, productivity, and patient care. After Abridge was selected in March 2025, a joint team went live April 30, scaling by region and EHR (Cerner and Epic) so local informatics teams could move at their own pace within enterprise standards. The partners co-created five success metrics, dashboards, readiness criteria, regional kickoffs, and a train-the-trainer model. Adoption was supported through local informatics teams, in-person and asynchronous training, Abridge resources, and clinical champions with early feature access. An enterprise release and communications strategy balanced local autonomy with cohesion. The session traces the full arc from Arch Collaborative measurement of EHR pain to solution deployment and outcomes, including CMIO Dr. Iqbal Sandhu’s perspective as a long-time Arch participant who expanded ambient AI based on his team’s evidence.
