Optimizing the Nursing Admission Assessment Navigator to Improve EHR Satisfaction & Efficiency
Dayton Children's Hospital: KLAS Arch Collaborative Summit 2025
Dayton Children’s Hospital will share how its Clinical Informatics team partnered with inpatient nurses, nursing administrators, and EHR builders to reduce the documentation burden of admission assessment flowsheet documentation for nurses providing direct patient care. The session will explore how an intermediate quality improvement course provided the framework for reviewing and improving admission assessment documentation, focusing on increasing nurses’ ability to spend time at the bedside and improving efficiency through frontline engagement. Attendees will also learn how these changes affected nursing satisfaction, as measured by a KLAS EHR satisfaction survey conducted several months after the project, and how much time nurses spent within the admission assessment navigator.
