Reaching the Pinnacle: Nurse Driven Informatics in Action
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP): KLAS Arch Collaborative Learning Summit 2026
This session highlights how CHOP transformed its informatics ecosystem into a nurse-led governance model that drives continual EHR optimization through partnership with Digital & Technology Services (DTS) and executive leadership. Using a structure–process–outcomes approach, CHOP created the Nursing & Clinical Care Services (NCCS) Informatics Council, a multidisciplinary body embedded in professional governance with protected time and executive sponsorship. Standardized office hours, documentation standards, and council validation turn frontline feedback into scalable, agile workflow improvements. Outcomes include sustained clinician experience gains and KLAS Pinnacle Award recognition. Attendees learned to build scalable governance connecting leaders, informaticists, and frontline clinicians; align workflows with KLAS insights; apply a repeatable intake-to-implementation framework; operationalize enterprise optimization; and connect improvements to Net EHR Experience Scores.
